Plastic films are used for packaging food products as it prevents food from spoiling. Food packed with plastic films can travel too long distances and stay longer on shelves. Without packaging, the food may get wasted and the resources invested may go in vain.

Puncture resistance measures the maximum force required to puncture a material. When a customer purchases any food product from the market, there is a possibility of leakages in the pouches. The leakages can cause infection in these food products. Packaged food is subjected to puncture hazards at the time of handling and transit. Puncture Resistance Tester measures the resistance to puncture of plastic films ranging from thick boards to thin films.


During the manufacturing process, pouches may get infected by bacteria and get punctured. Food gets exposed to air and moisture resulting in bad quality. Some retailers reseal the pouches as soon as they identify any puncture. For this reason, the packaging containers must have the proper strength to provide resistance towards any damages during the packaging.
